BLW Recipe: Porridge Fingers/Porridge bites.

The simplest and quickest breakfast. These have always been a massive hit with my little man, from the early stages of baby led weaning to these toddler stages.

For the porridge bites πŸ‘‰πŸ» 3tbsp porridge oats, 4tbsp milk (we use whole milk.)

Mix and leave until all mushy (very technical baking term.) If you’re impatient like me I just stand and keep mixing for a minute or two until it’s all combined.

Add whatever extras you fancy.

Then press into a microwaveable dish and microwave for 1 minute and 40 seconds (standard) if using wet ingredients as extras (like raspberries/blackberries) microwave for an extra 20 seconds.

They will still be soft to the touch. Remove from dish and slice into fingers, bite sized chunks when still warm. They will go a little firmer once cooled.

They should be soft and squishy so super easy for gummy babies (as well as ones sprouting teeth) to gobble but firm enough to hold their shape.

Top flavour combinations we have tried:

BlackBerry and apple.

Banana and cinnamon.

Coconut and raspberry.

Carrot, sultana, cinnamon and nutmeg.
